He coaches professionaly and as well as his commitment to GX he also coaches the junior and adult sections at other clubs and university teams. He is and ex international player and a highly regarded and experienced coach.
On Friday evening we also have a senior assistant coach in Fergus Stapleton. Fergus is a level 2 qualified coach and current Ireland Masters International. Fergus has been coaching the juniors at Gerrards Cross for 10 years.
Also present on Friday evenings is Deborah Stapleton. Deborah is a Level 1 qualified coach and also the club welfare officer.
This season we welcome a new coach Will Pendered, who is also a level 2 qualified coach.
Jaypee Wentzel (adult goalkeeper coach) is a professional hockey coach with many years experience coaching junior and adult teams and goalkeepers at club and county level.
On a Friday night a number of the capable and experienced sixth form students and players assist with the coaching sessions. They can be spotted by their black bibs with Assistant Coach written on the back. In addition we offer a young leader role to some of the younger players or those wishing to volunteer for their DofE, these helpers are identified by their red bibs with Young Leader on the back. These young club members are an integral part of the club and we are very grateful that they are prepared to give their time to assist and also delighted to watch them grow into their leadership roles.
